Optimus Prime-axe by LivioRamondelli Optimus Prime-axe by LivioRamondelli
With this drawing of Prime, I wanted to go for a bit more of a graphic look. I wanted to keep the shading and background to a stark minimum. I also played around with his silhouette a bit, giving him some added angles and blocks coming off of his main form. And I had always wanted to do an image with Prime and that badass energy axe he once formed his hand into in an early, classic Transformers episode.

This is simply outstanding!! I love the perspective, and the dark shading is really effective! I love greyscale art work, and this piece defiantly demonstrates why I love this style. I now only wish for my Transformers greyscale pieces to develop to this level of skill. Without a doubt you have a favourite from me.

You are most welcome, this is an amazing piece, along with all your other Transformers art work pieces, but this is my favourite, and the fact you drew him with his axe is touching. There so need to be more scenes with Optimus fighting Megatron with his axe... Also, may I asked what pencils you used to get the black so dark, 8B, charcoal?

Thanks!

I used an Ebony pencil for the really extreme black areas, the rest is lie a 4B and a blending stump for shading!

Aw thanks a bunch! Yeah I own a blending stump.... but I'm still getting use to it. I used it most noticeably on my last Transformers piece.
