Boba Fett_Sarlaac Escape by LivioRamondelli Boba Fett_Sarlaac Escape by LivioRamondelli
Many Star Wars fans feel that Boba Fett couldn't possibly have met his end in the Sarlaac Pit..and I share that sentiment. So, here's my take on how he might have survived- namely by igniting his wrist flamethrower while inside the beast and crawling through the burning ruins. I was trying to capture a sort of shadowy desert sunset feel with the lighting.

Screen purists will note a few liberties I've taken here- For example Jabba's Sail barge was blown to smithereens during the fight that would theoretically take place before this moment..but, I really wanted to include the Barge in the background for scale and so there it is. Also technically the Sarlaac pit is deeper in the ground as depicted in the film, but I wanted to have Fett standing as the Pit and the horizon smoldered behind him.

This painting is meant to be a companion piece to my "Vader on Hoth" painting I did a while back. With a similar composition and a similar "it might have happened!" theme. I'm thinking of doing a whole series like this..

I hope so much this will be canon in the next movie, Boba deserves his fame and he needs to live further.

I suppose he did survive until Lucas says otherwise. But as far as I know he agreed to the "he got out of the Sarlakk off-screen" theory.

In "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" it shows that Fett does escape.  Dengar almost kills him afterwards by mistake.

Yeah, I've read it. This is just my take on another possible version of his escape.

I read a book that included a confrontation between Han and Boba—this book took place after the movies, meaning Boba escaped according to that author.

I don't know if his escape is official, but I'll take this over the burping piranha plant from the remake.

Awesome Star Wars art! I'm referring to this pic and your other creations. Great series!

Boba actually survived the Sarlacc in the Expanded Universe's Canon (I don't know if it is still considered Canon since Disney took over :/)!
He went on to become Mandalore (leader of the Mandalorians) and remained the most well-known and feared Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy, even at the age of 60+

He did survive if you read the books that tells the story after the movie.

Yeah, I have read them. But since only the movies are true canon, I just did a take on him getting out.

I think is "it might have happened scene' works very well. And there are plenty of ways to fudge what's seen in the movie. Yes, the barge exploded, but we didn't see the aftermath; there could have been a burnt hulk left from the blast. And maybe the Sarlaac heaved itself up higher while Fett gave it a fatal case of heartburn. I hope you keep doing these scenes!

You totally should do a series, and for the record, Fett did survive the sarlacc. Screen purists may not know this, he even had children, fought the Yuuzhan Vong with the New Republic, and trained Han Solo's daughter Jaina to assassinate her brother, who had become a sith lord...... just in case you cared.....

You and another artist made artworks tell similar stories of Boba Fett's escape. You may enjoy exchanging commentary on each other's pieces. [link]

Yes but Jedi killed his father, and all of
His fathers family, so BOBA made his way in the galaxy on his own from an early age, it was never personal, just business, BOBA fett is a hero not a villain

The movies definitely portrayed him as bad.. But have a look into the expanded universe and you will see more than 1point of view on mandalorians in general

Not sure whether you know this, but he DID escape!
...After the sarlacc apparently decided to telepathically torture him while it digested him.
He later used another captive's (who'd been there so long he didn't care about getting out) psychological connection to the sarlacc to trick it into contracting around his jet pack, causing it to ignite, allowing him to escape and killing the sarlacc at the same time. [link]
So your idea wasn't too far off!

Believe it or not Fett did survive. he was placed in an acid pool to be slowly digested. after several VERY agonizing days, fett was able to ignite his jet pack. Causing the acid to explode shooting fett out and killing the sarlaac in the process. He was rescued by fellow bounty hunter Dengar.
