Hey there pal. I finally got Monstrosity in the mail today, and had to send you props. Been waiting to read it for ages, as you well know, having had to put up with my hand-wringing every time you posted an especially good cover!
I try so hard not to have a crush on Megatron (it's behavior unbecoming of a Prime) ...But then you go and draw things like this!! I failed and fell hard. It's the DOTM cape and damage, plus G1 pig-headed perseverance, plus Dreamwave Junkion rezzing, plus the whole exiled monarch vibe.... and Your Art, Sir. Your art undid me with all that simple, solid shapes and powerful color stuff, curse you!
(Have you read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud? I'm thinking that the reason your art can work so well is that it goes straight for primeval simplicity and skips all the fancy stuff on the surface. So images can be symbolic and profound. Plus, your way of coloring. It's like reading a cave painting -- in all the best ways!)
I thought the fade-to-white explosion at the refinery was a great choice -- I felt that one, bro.
The panels where Megs got pulled underwater FELT like being pulled under scummy green water -- pulled down deep. It was scary. (That was one bit where I felt the writing/pacing didn't quite flow -- how was it all of a sudden deep when they'd been fighting in shallows? But no matter.)
And that first reveal of Trypticon (by Jetfire) was very cool-- I stared at that panel a long time.
Grimmy's half-transformed hunch in Chap. 4 was CREEPY AS SLAG, so well done there!

I'm really coming to appreciate your coloring in and of itself. We all talk about your art style, but I really think it's the colors that sell the whole package. "Gritty" is overused, so I'm gonna go back to my cave-painting analogy. It's good stuff, and powerful mojo. When it's placed right in a story that fits it, it by-Primus WORKS.

Anyway, just wanted to send along a note of thanks -- even though you did make me crush on Megatron like the silly fangirl that I am. ;p And I've said it before, and I'll say it again; MAN, SUMMA THEM COVERS, YO!!! The Prime in the ashes one's my favorite -- so darn sad!! But 12, 10, and 8 are right up there on the pedestal.

All the best!
Hope 2014's a great year for ya. And Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much for reading! Really happy to hear that you enjoyed it. I appreciate you taking the time to give me your thoughts on the series. It was a blast to work on, and it was a lot of fun to contribute to a big story for Megatron. And I like hearing which moments you liked the best.

Thanks again for all the kind words, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
